Yes. Acupuncture is very safe when performed by a registered practitioner. We use sterile, single-use needles and follow strict hygiene protocols. Our practitioners are all CMCNZ registered, ensuring they meet New Zealand's healthcare standards.
Most patients experience minimal discomfort. Acupuncture needles are much thinner than injection needles — about the width of a human hair. You may feel a slight tingling or dull ache, which is a sign the treatment is working.
This varies depending on your condition. Acute injuries may improve in 3–6 sessions, while chronic conditions may require 8–12 sessions or more. Your practitioner will discuss a treatment plan during your first visit.
Yes! As ACC registered providers, we can lodge claims directly for injury-related treatment. No GP referral is needed. You only pay a small surcharge per visit.
Acupuncture is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine theory and treats the whole body system. Dry needling, used by physiotherapists, targets specific muscle trigger points. Our practitioners are trained in the full TCM approach, offering more comprehensive treatment.
Yes. We accept claims from Southern Cross, nib, Accuro, UniMed, and Partners Life. Please check with your insurance provider for your specific coverage details.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to your arms, legs, and back. We also provide gowns if needed.
Avoid arriving on an empty stomach or immediately after a heavy meal. After treatment, drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous exercise for 2 hours, and avoid alcohol for the rest of the day.
